How do I choose the right clipping platform?

View verification, pay per sale, caps, fees, content rights: the 8 questions to ask before launching a campaign on a clipping platform.

To choose a clipping platform, check eight things: verified views, pay per sale, a capped budget, clear fees, control over what gets posted, active clippers, respect for content rights and search keywords. Platforms, agencies, Discord servers, Telegram groups: there are plenty of ways to run a clipping campaign, and they’re not all equal. Before you fund a budget, here are the 8 questions to ask, along with what Skyroclip does on each one, so you can compare.

1. Are views verified, or self-reported?

This is the number one criterion. If clippers send in screenshots, you’re paying on trust. A serious platform:

  • checks that the clip really comes from an account belonging to the clipper;
  • tracks views directly on the network, regularly;
  • flags suspicious spikes in views.

On Skyroclip: clipper accounts are verified, views are tracked automatically, and the creator approves every clip before it’s paid.

2. Can you pay per sale?

Paying per view buys attention. If you sell something, you want to be able to pay for results: a sale, a signup, an install. That requires a tracked link per clipper and reliable sales reporting.

On Skyroclip: three modes: per view, per conversion (fixed amount or percentage), or both combined. The details are in our guide on paying clippers per view or per conversion.

3. Is the budget capped?

You should know upfront the most you can spend, and be able to limit how much a single clip can earn.

On Skyroclip: the budget is funded upfront and can’t be exceeded; you set a minimum number of views and a cap per clip.

4. Are the fees clear?

Compare the total cost: percentage of the budget, monthly retainer, setup fees, withdrawal fees for clippers. Agencies often charge far more than a platform, because they handle everything for you.

On Skyroclip: a 10% fee on top of the budget, nothing else; signing up is free for everyone.

5. Can you control what gets posted?

Your videos, your brand: you should be able to set rules (length, mentions, banned topics) and reject a clip that doesn’t follow them, before paying for it.

On Skyroclip: written rules on every campaign, clip approval by the creator, and automatic blocking of a clipper after several rejected clips.

6. How many active clippers are there, and on which networks?

A platform without clippers is useless. Ask which networks they post on (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, X) and in which languages.

On Skyroclip: campaigns across all four networks, and a platform available in French, English and Spanish.

7. Are content rights respected?

Paying clippers to repost content you don’t own the rights to exposes you to takedowns and account suspensions. The platform should require that the content belongs to whoever launches the campaign, or that they have the owner’s permission.

On Skyroclip: every campaign is launched by the content owner or with their permission. More details in our guide is clipping legal?

Short videos are increasingly found through search on TikTok, YouTube and even Google. A platform that helps clippers target the right searches brings you views for months, not just a few days.

On Skyroclip: you choose up to 8 search keywords per campaign, with suggestions pulled from YouTube search; each clip shows which ones it includes.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a clipping platform and a clipping agency?

An agency runs the campaign for you and often charges a high percentage or a monthly retainer. A platform gives you the tools to run it yourself, with lower fees. Some agencies actually use a platform to manage their clippers.

How does a platform verify views?

Good platforms check that the clip was posted from an account that belongs to the clipper, then track views directly on the social network at regular intervals, instead of relying on screenshots.

Can I pay clippers per sale instead of per view?

Only on some platforms. You then need a tracked link per clipper and a way to report sales back, through a script on your site or a postback from your payment tool.

What fees does Skyroclip charge?

A 10% fee is added on top of the campaign budget. Signing up is free for both creators and clippers.

What is a clipping platform?

A marketplace where creators launch campaigns with their videos, rules and budget, and independent clippers post clips on their own accounts. Each clipper is paid according to what their clips bring in.

Can I spend more than my budget on a clipping platform?

Not on Skyroclip: the budget is funded upfront and can't be exceeded, and you can set a minimum number of views and a cap per clip.

Can I reject a clip before paying for it?

On Skyroclip, yes: every campaign has written rules, the creator approves each clip before it's paid, and a clipper is automatically blocked after several rejected clips.

Which social networks does a clipping platform cover?

It varies, so ask before you sign up. Skyroclip campaigns run on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and X, and the platform is available in French, English and Spanish.

Is it safe to pay clippers to repost my content?

Only if the content is yours or you have the owner's permission; otherwise you risk takedowns and account suspensions. On Skyroclip, every campaign is launched by the content owner or with their permission.

How do clips keep getting views after the first few days?

Through search: short videos are increasingly found by searching on TikTok, YouTube and even Google. On Skyroclip, you choose up to 8 search keywords per campaign, and each clip shows which ones it includes.
